Chocolate covered Oreos

End of the year is approaching very quickly and as I was looking for supplies for my son's birthday cake I came upon the sugarcraft website.  I have made chocolate covered oreos before but they sell oreo bags as well as any colored sprinkle you can imagine.  They also sell chocolate colors in tubes for decorating that I might need to try soon.  They have colored chocolate discs in every color, candy molds and baggies to hold all your dessert crafts

For a child friendly kitchen craft try chocolate covered oreos and add your schoool colors for a special touch.

Melt your chocolate in the microwave slowly so you don't burn it.

Dip each cookie into the mixture to coat completely.  Tap off any excess and place it onto parchment paper.  Add the sprinkles or candy decorations and allow to set either at room temperature or in the fridge.

Place them into the cellophane bag and tie with a ribbon.  Have the kids draw or write on a business card size piece of card stock and add to the bag.  I let my kids type theirs on the computer and add a graphic.   I think they turned out great.


If school is already out, I am sure your next hostess will graciously accept them!!  They would make great party favors or just a fun kitchen activity to do with  the kids this summer.  ( just be sure your air conditioner is on)
