Triple Dipped S’Mores Apples and More

I was sitting in a doctor’s office last week and started browsing Country Living Magazine where I stumbled upon this great recipe for Tripple Dipped SMores Apples.

I have made caramel apples before, check out my recipe about a caramel apple bar.  A fun way to dress up an old favorite and everyone gets what they want.

I was a little skeptical about making these as my kids tend to stick to their favorites but I went ahead and purchased the ingredients and decided to only make 3 in case things did not work out or they went to waste if they did not taste good.

How to Make S’mores Dipped Apples

What You Need to Make Smores Dipped Apples

  • 6 (or up to 8) Granny Smith Apples
  • 2 tablespoon(s) Unsalted Butter
  • 1 bag(s) (28-ounce) Large Marshmallows
  • 10 ounce(s) Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cup(s) Crushed Graham Crackers

I could not find a 28 oz bag of large marshmallows but did find this 24 oz bag of extra large marshmallows. Not sure why you would need the large size but once we got home I realized I was going to cut the recipe in half anyway.

The best advice I can give is to spray parchment with a little cooking spray. I just used waxed paper and ti stuck.

Look how pretty it looked right after I dipped it into the marshmallow sauce. It was not this pretty once they set and I tried to get them off the paper.

Despite my little mess up, I think they turned out very nice. A perfect taste of fall and the summer mixed into one dessert.

I bet you want a bite. See the three layers of goodness in every bite?

 Marshmallow Dipped  S’mores

You should know me better than this to leave well enough alone. Well, now I had some extra chocolate and crushed graham cracker crumbs.

I took some of the extra large marshmallows and dipped them into some chocolate after inserting a pretzel stick inside. Then I rolled them in both graham cracker crumbs and pretzels.

Small mouths will just love these marshmallow recipes and treats.

Don’t worry I will share this with you. Much sweeter than an apple but a great little small bite for a kids’ birthday party.

    4. Then, in a double boiler over low heat, melt chocolate chips, stirring continuously. Dip an apple into the chocolate, stopping two-thirds of the way up.
    5. Immediately dip the lower third of the apple into a bowl of crushed graham crackers rotating to coat evenly. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
    6. Repeat for all apples and refrigerate until set, about 15 minutes.

Notes

Tips and Techniques Tricks for Sticks: First, simply twist off the stem. If your skewer is blunt, sharpen it using a utility knife to slice off one end at a diagonal angle. Then, working on a flat surface, firmly grip your apple and push the skewer two-thirds of the way in. If any juice leaks out, blot the fruit with a paper towel before dipping
