Summer Activities Using Magic School Bus Weather Lab

There are so many great summer activities you can do using this great Magic School Bus Weather Lab. I love that it comes with great ideas, but some of the things I think you can easily expound on are listed below.
Watch Weather Patterns In Your State. Look up statistics on things like temperature, water, rain, and even wind for your state or area for the last 20 years. Check the averages and compare the average for every 5 years. It’s a great choice to get your kids interested in weather patterns, but also, learn about your individual state.
Measure Water Levels. Drought is a real threat in many areas. Summer months often mean fewer rain showers and hotter weather that soaks up water fast. Check your state water levels, or even leave a gauge out to measure the summer rainfalls.
Learn About Tornadoes & Hurricanes. Summer months are the most common for things like tornadoes and hurricanes. Take the time to learn about what causes each, and what areas are most prone to seeing these weather events.
Learn What Causes Landslides. Torrential rainfall in areas of drought is the common factor behind landslides and mudslides. Use this weather lab to learn more about how weather changes make that more likely to happen.

These kits are great, they are a fun way for the kids to keep their brains active without having to do summer school or anything like that! Great idea.
I loved The Magic School Bus as a kid. Thanks for sharing this! 🙂
My nephew is fascinated by the weather–storms, wind, rain–all of it. And I don’t know any child who doesn’t love Magic School Bus. This is a great idea for a gift or as a fun, educational summer activity.
These kits look amazing! I knew that kids lost a lot of what they learned during the school year in the summer, but I didn’t know it was two whole months’ worth of information just gone. These kits definitely fit the bill for kids learning a little something without even realizing it.
What fun!!! I remember this series as a kid. Nice to see it is still around 🙂
Magic School Bus is always a great series and love the activities
